Participants

In HydroTrade, two primary market participants are identified:

  1. "Makers" who create automated strategies consisting of one or two on-chain limit or range orders.

  2. "Takers" who execute "spot" trades directly against active strategies, either through DEX aggregators or as arbitrageurs. Spot trading requests are processed using a decentralized SDK or any custom software capable of handling on-chain data.

Similar to liquidity providers in traditional automated market makers (AMMs), makers in HydroTrade contribute to the liquidity of the system in an on-chain, permissionless manner. However, they differ significantly in that each maker can personalize their fee or "spread" between their buy and sell ranges. This stands in contrast to existing AMMs, which impose the AMM's fee on liquidity providers.
